Dr. Chareonthaitawee is a Professor of Medicine, Director of the Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory, Chair of Education and Diversity Chair for the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA.
She received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University in New York and her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago.
She completed her Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Nuclear Cardiology training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
She was a Mayo Foundation Scholar for advanced training in cardiac PET imaging at Imperial College School of Medicine, London, England.
She is a past President of the SNMMI Cardiovascular Council and was Chair of the 2019 ASNC Annual Scientific Program Committee.
She is currently on the Board of Directors of ASNC.
She is an Associate Editor of Circulation Cardiovascular Imaging journal and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology.
She has been recognized as a Top Educator by Mayo Clinic residents and fellows every year since 2007 and has received the Teacher of the Year award.
Dr. Chareonthaitawee has served as course faculty and course director for over 100 regional, national and international meetings and has authored or co-authored over 100 scientific manuscripts, abstracts, book chapters, review articles, and editorials.
