He joined the faculty at Hahnemann University Hospital as an Assistant
Professor of Medicine, where he rose to the rank of Professor of Medicine (Cardiology)
and to the rank of Endowed Chair, William Penn Snyder III Professor of Medicine,
Director of Cardiovascular Research Center and Section Chief of Nuclear Cardiology at
The Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University Hospital. He was
recruited to UAB in 1999 as the Director of Nuclear Cardiology Division. 

He holds membership in a number of professional and scholarly organizations,
including the Fellow, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association,
Chair, Imaging Committee of the American College of Cardiology, Chair, Imaging
Committee of the American Heart Association, President of the American Society of
Nuclear Cardiology, Chair, Board certification of Nuclear Cardiology, Editor-in-Chief of
the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology, Master of the American College of Cardiology,
Master of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the recipient of The Leonard
Tow Humanism in Medicine Award from Arnold P. Gold Foundation in Recognition of
Exemplary Compassion, Competence and Respect in the Delivery of Care. He is
member of reviewer of most cardiology and nuclear cardiology editorial boards and
journals, author and co-author of over one thousand manuscripts in peer review
journals, abstracts, review papers, chapters, editorials and several text books including
the text book in nuclear cardiology (6 th edition in progress) and invited speaker all over
the world.
